Hello, I'm Carla, a woman passionate about colourful threads and intertwined memories. Born in São Paulo, I grew up surrounded by the skilled hands of the women in my family. At just seven years old, my heart raced as I watched my aunt weave a crochet centrepiece adorned with delicate butterflies. Mesmerized by the magic of colours, I eagerly asked her to teach me the secrets behind those threads. With a crochet hook and a handful of colourful dreams, I took my first steps into a world brimming with creativity and love for handicrafts.

Years later, I made a bold leap into the unknown, immigrating to Canada for a fresh start. The language barriers and new challenges were just the first knots I had to untie on my path to reinvention. Yet amidst these challenges, a seed of transformation was planted inside me. My desire to reclaim my roots in handicrafts blossomed, and with it, Cubby was born — my sanctuary of creation.

Specializing in bringing three-dimensional pieces called Amigurumis to life, I dove headfirst into the enchanting world of creating decorations for baby rooms, customized dolls, and especially the adorable little saints that captured my heart and the hearts of many others. But Cubby's true magic goes beyond its creations. Each person who walks through its doors brings with them stories, smiles, and connections that enrich my journey. Every encounter reminds me of the importance of sharing love, care, and joy through my art.

With each new creation, I feel gratitude wash over me. Every child's smile upon receiving one of my dolls and every sparkle in a mother's eye as she decorates her baby's room with one of my pieces confirms that I am on the right path. These small victories validate my hard work, fuel my passion, and inspire me to seek new horizons of excellence in my art.
